That is why the founders of GRENA are state universities, Georgian National Academy of Sciences and Open Society-Georgia Foundation. The main activities of GRENA are:
Development of the computer networking infrastructure and implementation of new services to connect educational and research institutions of Georgia, as well as international organizations working in education into unique information system.
Ensuring connectivity of local networks with international ones.
Support the development of ICT systems in educational and research institutions.
Conducting training and support of users, as well as assessment monitoring and certification of education.
Organizing special thematic workshops.
Promoting and supporting the ICT development in Georgia in general.
GRENA provides IT services to approximately 50 research and education institutions in Georgia using its own infrastructure and innovation technologies. Development of projects is conducted in cooperation with universities with the support of European Commission, NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme, UNDP, Open Society - Georgia Foundation, International Science & Technology Centre, etc.

Website: http://www.icarti.ge/ Phone: The International Center for Advancement of Research, Technology and Innovation (ICARTI) is the National Contact Point organization in Georgia for Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) of European Commission Seventh Framework Programme and a contact point organization in the People Mobility grants programme. ICARTI cooperates with a number of entities in the EU (Belgium, Estonia, Greece, Finland, Sweden, France, Italy, etc.) and EECA countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Belarus and Ukraine) in support of Science and Technology development. ICARTI has the following main objectives: facilitation of international cooperation of Georgian research and technology organizations and groups of researchers/engineers with their foreign partners and assistance in integration of Georgian scientists in ERA and international S&T networks; bridging the gaps between research and industry, support to innovation and research commercialization processes. Activities of ICARTI includes: (i) assistance in introduction of best European and international practices in S&T policy and management system; (ii) facilitation of information exchange between S&T stakeholders; (iii) offering to Georgian and foreign SMEs and companies technology transfer and implementation of the innovation services; (iv) mediation services for representatives of S&T and industry including organization on international workshops and brokerage events, partner search, etc.; (v) consultation and information dissemination among local S&T community about FP7 objectives, activities and funding schemes.

It was created to assist in the coordination process of innovation development and provision of government support measures in the Republic of Kazakhstan. In this framework, NATD is one of the key institutions in the country established to assist innovation development as a core strategic objective in economy development in Kazakhstan and contributed to the development of the "State Programme for Industrial-Innovation Development 2010-2014" (Law "About state support for industrial-innovation development"). The main activities of NATD are:
informational and analytical support for innovation,
development of the commercialization system,
development of an effective innovation infrastructure,
administration of service tools designed to support innovation,
investment support for innovative projects,
promotion of innovation processes.
A key objective of NATD is to support the implementation of innovative projects, develop technoparks and business incubators in Kazakhstan, as well as facilitate technology transfer and links between academia and industry at both national and international level. In fact, four (4) actively functioning regional technoparks were initiated with the participation and supervision of NATD.

Website: http://www.inexcb.kz/ Phone: InExCB-Kz was established in 2002 by key researchers of Kazakhstan in order to support involvement of Kazakh scientific community into the EU research programmes and as a result of the project No ICA2-CT- 2000-50004 "Creation of networks in Kazakhstan with a view to future participation of Kazak scientific community in the 5th Framework Programme of the European Community" funded by the EU FP5. InExCB-Kz staff comprise 42 persons, of which: 3 persons are the InExCB-Kz founders – members of the decision making body (council); 6 persons are involved in the executive body (directorate) and 32 persons are scientists in the different research fields (independent experts). The InExCB-Kz acts as hosting organization of the EU FP7 National Coordinator office in Kazakhstan (FP7 NCP-Kz), FP7 INCO NCP-Kz, FP7 Health NCP-Kz, and office of the Advisor to Member of the European Parliament Struan Stevenson, and consultant to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

It has enhanced its activity in an international level by permanently increasing flow of new information, which demands properly analysis and dissemination, and interest of Uzbek researchers in international cooperation and participation in projects in the Framework of International Organization Programmes. IUCP-T staff consists of 6 persons, from which: 2 persons are the IUCP-T founders – members of the decision making body; 4 persons are workers of the executive body and 10 free-lance persons are scientists in the different research fields out of staff. The IUCP-T was hosting organization of Uzbekistan National Information Point of FP6 INTAS Information Network in New Independent States and Uzbekistan National Information Point of FP7.
